What it is

Click a value on an issue and it becomes an editor. No edit form, no round trip, no losing your place halfway down a long ticket. Every change is an ordinary issue update underneath: the same permissions, the same workflow rules, the same validation and the same history entry. The point is fewer clicks, not different rules.

On your own Redmine

Requirements

  • Redmine 6.0 or newer (Rails 7.2, Ruby 3.1 or newer)
  • PostgreSQL 14+, or MySQL 8.0+ / MariaDB 10.6+
  • No additional gems, and no tables of its own

Install

cd /path/to/redmine
cp -r redminepro_quick_edit plugins/
# no migrations — this feature owns no tables
# restart Redmine

Standalone behaviour

Identical. There is no plan gate, no module and no setting, so there is nothing that could behave differently.

Update and remove

Copy the new directory over the old one and restart. To remove:

rm -rf plugins/redminepro_quick_edit
# restart Redmine

Nothing is lost. Every edit it made was an ordinary issue edit and is still in the history.
