What it is

Your status transitions, drawn as a diagram you can edit. The checkbox grid is precise and, past about a dozen statuses, unreadable — you cannot see that a status is a dead end, or that nobody can reach it, by scanning ticks. The diagram answers that at a glance and lets you fix it in place. It is a view over Redmine's own workflow rules: there is no second store, no sync step, and nothing to reconcile.

On your own Redmine

Requirements

  • Redmine 6.0 or newer (Rails 7.2, Ruby 3.1 or newer)
  • PostgreSQL 14+, or MySQL 8.0+ / MariaDB 10.6+
  • No additional gems

Install

cd /path/to/redmine
cp -r redminepro_workflow_designer plugins/
RAILS_ENV=production bundle exec rake redmine:plugins:migrate NAME=redminepro_workflow_designer
# restart Redmine

Then open Administration → Workflow Designer.

Standalone behaviour

Identical. There is no plan gate, no seat display and no shared component — this feature works the same installed on its own as it does alongside everything else.

Update and remove

Copy the new directory over the old one, run the migrate command above, and restart. To remove it:

RAILS_ENV=production bundle exec rake redmine:plugins:migrate NAME=redminepro_workflow_designer VERSION=0
rm -rf plugins/redminepro_workflow_designer
# restart Redmine

Every workflow rule survives — they were never this feature's to own. Only the saved box positions go.

Already on RedminePRO Cloud? It is installed and maintained for you: see the configuration guide.
