When Easy8 is the better choice

You need the product in a language we don't cover. Easy8 publishes in 13 languages with a documentation library running to hundreds of pages, plus around 60 case studies, ebooks and webinars. If your team works in Czech, Polish, Spanish or German and expects native-language documentation and support, that is a serious operational advantage and we don't match it.

You want an all-in-one work-management suite, not Redmine. Standard Redmine vs a suite built on Redmine

This is the distinction the whole comparison turns on, and it's usually explained badly, so here it is plainly.

Standard Redmine is the open-source project. You install it, you install plugins from the wider ecosystem, and any host running standard Redmine can take a backup from any other host running standard Redmine. Your data is in a schema that thousands of installations share and that is documented publicly.

A suite built on Redmine takes that codebase as a starting point and builds a larger product on top: new modules, new data structures, a different interface, a different upgrade cycle. That is not a criticism — it's how you get resource management, finance and CRM in one coherent product, and Easy8 has built a genuinely large one. But two things follow from it. First, community Redmine plugins are not guaranteed to work, because the platform underneath them has changed.
